Grammy-winning artist Solana Rowe, known professionally as SZA, has announced her disinterest in pursuing romantic relationships.
The 34-year-old singer conveyed her sentiments on Thursday via a post on her X (formerly Twitter) account, where she expressed a strong aversion to romance, describing it as akin to a “disease.”
“I never wanna be romantically interested in a human being ever again in my entire life. That shit is a disease,” SZA wrote.
The “Kill Bill” artist, who has largely kept her personal life private, has seldom discussed her romantic encounters.
Born in St. Louis to a Christian mother and a Muslim father, SZA was raised in the Islamic faith and continues to adhere to its practices.
She first gained recognition in the music scene with her self-released EPs, ‘See.SZA.Run’ in 2012 and ‘S’ in 2013. SZA made history as the first female artist to sign with Top Dawg Entertainment and released her third EP, ‘Z,’ in 2014.
Her debut studio album, Ctrl, was launched in 2017 under RCA Records, followed by her second album, SOS, in 2022, which cemented her position as a significant figure in the music industry.
Throughout her career, SZA has received numerous accolades, including four Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, an American Music Award, a Guild of Music Supervisors Award, and two Billboard Women in Music awards.
In addition to her solo projects, she has penned songs for various artists, including Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, Travis Scott, ScHoolboy Q, and Rihanna.
