Renowned food critic Opeyemi Famakin has taken to social media to confront entertainment mogul Cubana Chiefpriest regarding an alleged threat to his safety.
Famakin shared his review online following a visit to Cubana Chiefpriest’s restaurant on September 11, 2024, in Imo State.
In his Instagram post, Famakin commended the restaurant’s atmosphere and design but criticized the use of pre-made and microwaved pastries.
In response, Cubana Chiefpriest expressed his appreciation in the comments, stating, “Thank you for visiting, Foodie. Wishing you all the best!”
However, the situation escalated on Thursday, September 12, 2024, when Famakin accused Chiefpriest of issuing threats in reaction to his review.
To substantiate his allegations, he shared screenshots of their conversation.
In one message, Chiefpriest remarked, “Karma is real, you must pay for whatever you sow in life. I don’t fight lowlifes, I leave them to karma. The business you did your wicked review for is owned by a 6-year-old.”
Famakin captioned the screenshot, urging the public to hold Chiefpriest accountable should any harm come to him.
He wrote, “I know a threat when I see one. I guess it’s time to leave Imo State ASAP. If anything happens to me while I am here, well, you know who to hold. I love how he was polite in the comment section for the world to see, but it was a different tone in my DMs.”
