Anwulika Udanoh’s union with her Canadian spouse, David Bobbitt, came to an end merely two months after they shared their wedding photographs on Facebook.
David recounted that the issues arose when Anwulika went out dancing with family and friends one evening, returning home at 3 a.m. Concerned by her tardiness, David questioned her actions, implying that as a married woman, she should not have been out so late.
Anwulika, however, perceived his concern as an attempt to control her, which escalated into a significant argument. Following this incident, David noted that Anwulika began to show him increasing disrespect, further exacerbating the tensions in their relationship.
Despite David’s affection for Nigeria and its people, he acknowledged that he may not have taken sufficient time to truly understand Anwulika prior to their marriage. He expressed his sorrow over the situation, highlighting that Anwulika never offered an apology for her behavior, which made it increasingly challenging for him to endure the disrespect.
The couple, whose marriage endured for only two months, has officially announced their separation, marking a sudden and distressing end to their brief partnership. This announcement has ignited fervent discussions on social media, where their wedding had once been celebrated with enthusiasm.
