Chelsea is considering the option of loaning Ben Chilwell to a Turkish club, as reported by The Telegraph.
The left-back is likely to experience a prolonged absence from competitive football if he continues at Stamford Bridge.
With the transfer windows in England and Saudi Arabia now closed, Turkey presents Chilwell with his sole chance to gain playing time before January.
Chilwell, who has a weekly salary of approximately £200,000, was unable to finalize a transfer prior to the Premier League deadline and has since been excluded from the plans of Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca. The club initially aimed to sell the player but is now receptive to a loan deal due to the lack of permanent offers.
The Turkish transfer window remains open until September 18, offering a potential opportunity for the England international.
However, Chelsea has not yet received any substantial offers for the 26-year-old, who served as vice-captain last season.
Maresca, who has relegated Chilwell from the first-team squad, has suggested that the left-back does not align with his tactical strategy, which requires full-backs to operate more centrally or as part of a back three.
As a result, Chilwell has been training apart from the main team.
If Chilwell fails to secure a transfer to Turkey, he is likely to be sidelined from senior football for a minimum of four months, remaining outside the first-team setup until the January transfer window reopens.
