The legal team representing the family of the late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has voiced worry over what it termed as sensitive information about the deceased being published to the public.
According to a statement obtained by Punch Metro on Sunday, one of the team’s leaders, Taiwo Odumosu, believes such information should be made available to the police rather than the public.
He also encouraged the public to come forward with any information that could help the inquiry into the singer’s death.
“Given the nature of the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad), and the information being released to the public space which ordinarily should have been given to the police, the Legal Team to the Aloba Family wishes to advise that anyone with useful and relevant information that could aid in the search for and the circumstances leading to the death of the singer should reach out to the Legal Team to facilitate proper legal connectivity. The police can also be contacted to ensure the safety and protection of witnesses and suspects,” the statement partly read.
Odumosu further stated that the coroner’s inquest had issued witness summons, and that the family was seeking assistance in gathering evidence to discover what caused Mohbad’s early death.
“Please, note that Joseph Aloba does not seek to pursue any personal or familiar relationships at this point. His whole interest is focused on getting to the bottom and finding out details as to what happened to his dear son and the circumstances that led to his untimely demise.
Mohbad died at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, and the circumstances surrounding his death sparked controversy on social media.
